Our "Team"

Phil McKeone, President Born in Nebraska in 1952. Phil graduated from Creighton Prep in 1970 and began working in concrete construction that same year. From there, he went on to attend Creighton University until 1973, when he left early. Founded Daedalus Construction in 1977. In 1987 became the President and sole stockholder in the company. Phil handles all the daily operations of the company and is active on all projects.

Phil has a wife named Jeanine with whom they have four children, and serves on several boards in the community.

John Patrick McKeone (1957-2003) John was the Vice President and Personnel and Safety Issues Manager from 1989 until 2003, when he passed away from an untimely death. He made many important contributions to the growth of Daedalus Construction.

Ann McKeone, Controller Ann earned her Bachelors in Business Administration from Creighton University. She started working at Daedalus in 1999 as the company's Controller. She is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA).

Louie Dircks, Vice President, Job Superintendent and Civil Construction Project Manager Louie has worked at Daedalus since 1982. His expertise is in civil construction work, including streets, parking lots, sidewalks and beautification projects. He has built and managed the construction of many large, high profile buildings and sites within Omaha, such as: Creighton Soccer Stadium Eppley Airfield parking expansion Linden market hardscape Several Dodge Street widening projects: 12th to 15th Streets, 67th to 70th Streets, and 84th to 98th Streets.

Jim Ehlers, Job Superintendent and Decorative Concrete Project Manager Jim started working in Concrete Construction in 1971. He began working at Daedalus Construction in 1980. Experienced in: Blueprint Reading/Drawing Layout Heavy Highway Flatwork Decorative Concrete: Stamping,Staining,Overlays, Micro-Toppings etc. Structural Concrete Architectural Concrete/Finishes Tilt-Up Concrete Construction Concrete Homes Member of: ACI (American Concrete Institute) ASCC (American Society Concrete Contractors)

Brad D. Svensen, Chief Estimator and Commercial Project Manager Brad earned at Bachelor of Science degree in Construction Management at the University of Nebraska - Lincoln in 1992. In March of 1993, he started his career at Daedalus Construction Company. Brad does the majority of commercial estimating.

Clients large and small recognize Brad for his precise and thorough project estimation and management skills.

Crystal Bitzes, Accountant Crystal earned her Bachelors in Business Administration from University of Nebraska at Omaha in 2004. She has been the company accountant since 2003.

Our Field Personnel: Without a doubt we have one of the finest group of men and women who execute the work and without whom a great management staff would be helpless. Almost all of our foremen have over 10 years experience at our company and are known for their steady work and vast expertise installing difficult pieces of concrete. They have great safety and driving records. In fact, many general contractors will request specific foremen each year for their particular work needs. We are all a great team.
